Homebound Delivery

For Somers Residents Unable to Come to the Library Due to a Permanent Condition

Our delivery program brings library materials to homebound residents of Somers each month. Library staff selects books and other materials according to the preferences of the homebound library users. To be eligible for this service you must be a Somers resident unable to come to the library due to a permanent condition. For example, you are no longer able to drive, have mobility problems, or require extended bed rest. You may remain in the program for as long as you need the service. Homebound residents interested in the program may contact the Reference Librarian at 914-232-5717. Click here for the Somers Library Homebound Application.   This service requires a library card.

Would you like to become a Homebound Services Volunteer?

Volunteers visit individual homes once a month. Volunteers will pick up pre-selected materials at the library, deliver them to the homebound person, and return items that are due. With just a few hours of time, volunteers provide a month of enjoyment for a homebound person. Volunteer applications are available at the Reference Desk.
