Welcome to the new & improved 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program!

** PLEASE REGISTER IN THE CHILDREN'S ROOM BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE PROGRAM**

What is 1000 Books Before Kindergarten?

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a self-paced reading program for parents/guardians and their little ones to begin with their newborn, infant or toddler. The goal of the reading program is to reach 1000 books before your little one reaches kindergarten and to have fun with reading. The program can take anywhere from a few months to a few years. Again, this is a self paced program!

If you read one book a night, that's 365 books in a year. And that's 730 books in two years! If you're reading a few books a night, you could finish the program quickly. Books can be repeated as well, everyone has their favorite they like to read more than once of course.

How to sign up and what are the incentives:

Visit the Children's Room to sign-up and receive your book log(s), bookmark and sticker, reading resources and view the prize catalog. You will also learn about the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten app that can be used in place of a paper log.

For each milestone, (every 100 books) your child(ren) can visit the library and receive a small prize. Once 1000 books is reached, children receive a book bag, a brand new book and their Certificate to show they've completed the program!
